Position Overview: Head of External Innovation who is responsible for identifying, sourcing and participating in scientific assets evaluation from early research to clinical development stage. The candidate will also work closely with project teams to transfer promising assets into company product pipeline and strengthen its competitive position. This position reports directly to the CEO of Global R&D Center.

Key Responsibilities:
•Source clinical-stage and preclinical drug in-license opportunities, on different therapeutic areas (e.g. Immunology, CNS, Chronic Disease, Oncology) and technology platforms that align with Fosun's R&D strategy.
•Primarily build partnerships​ with potential partners from academic institutions, as well as biotech startups and MNCs that could offer assets or capabilities, and facilitate to form collaborative intentions.
•Collaborate with cross-function teams to drive internal scientific evaluation on the scouted assets, and engage in agreement sign-off.
•Foster strategic partnerships with partners of academic institutions. Cultivate and nurture pre-clinical translational R&D initiatives, and establish Joint Steering Committees (JSCs) with partners of academic institutions to oversee project execution. Facilitate the integration into Fosun's R&D pipeline at appropriate timelines.
•Provide inputs and recommendations to the senior management on the most promising scientific and technological opportunities that could drive the Fosun's future growth and innovation, and ensure that the scouted opportunities are strategically aligned with the company's long-term vision.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
•Advanced degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) in a scientific field such as Biology, Medical, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
•Significant experience (8+ years) in a scientific or technical role within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, prior experience in BD scouting, in-licensing, university-industry collaboration or strategic partnerships is preferred.
•Extensive knowledge and understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, drug development process, and emerging scientific trends. Hands-on experience with drug discovery projects is a plus.
•Strong networking and relationship-building skills to engage with the scientific community and external partners.
•Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, good learning agilities and flexibilities.
•Strong communication skills, willingness to collaborate with cross functional teams, and fluent in English (both written and spoken).
